Knights' 5-5 PAC Record Boosts Field Hockey into Playoffs

Oct. 24, 2007

Aston, Pa. - For the third consecutive season the Neumann Knights field hockey team will head to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference playoffs.

On the defensive end, the Knights have tallied 23 defensive saves- Kaitlyn Murphy coming up with 8 on her own.

The Knights 7-13 overall record and 5-5 mark in the PAC includes a number of game and season highs to equal the success that the Knights have found this season. Chelsea Ward recorded a season high 16 saves against Cabrini on Oct.  17. As a team Neumann recorded a season high 33 points verse Rosemont on Sept. 12 which included 15 goals and 3 assists. The 2007 Knights broke the program's season goals record at 47 and the team now lays claim to the most shutouts in a season (5).

Saturday's 1st-round playoff match up will mark the first show down between these two teams in post season play.  Misericordia University, who will host Neumann at 2:00 p.m., leads the regular season series 9-2 over the Knights.
