Entering his 4th season behind the bench in 2007-08, Kennedy, whose 32-29-4 record at Neumann gives him the most wins as a coach at Neumann College, is posed to take the Knights further into the playoffs. The American Hockey Coaches Association ranks Kennedy's career .543 winning percentage, 17th on the All-Time NCAA Winning Percentage list. During his 3 years at Neumann College Kennedy has led the Knights to 3 consecutive ECAC Tournament appearances, coached multiple ECAC West Athletes of the Week and had 6 players named to all-conference teams. Working hand-in-hand with the Philadelphia Flyers and USA Hockey, Kennedy has spoken at the Flyers Annual Youth Hockey Symposium about women's colligate hockey and has coached at the USA Hockey District Camps each summer. In 2004-05, Kennedy led the Knights to the 9th best offense in the country scoring an average of 3.89 goals a game. In 2006-07, the Knights earn a record, 11 players named to the ECAC WEST All-Academic Team. Student-athletes earn placement on the ECAC West All-Academic Team by attaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The 2005-06 season found Kennedy away from the Neumann program as he joined the staff of Division I and ECAC Hockey League member, Quinnipiac University. Working along side his mentor, Michael Barrett, Kennedy assisted in the creation of one of the best team records in school history. Including wins over nationally ranked No. 9 Yale and a 3-2 championship win over No. 10 University of Connecticut for the Nutmeg Cup. Kennedy's primary responsibility at Quinnipiac was working with the goaltenders. In his single season with QU, Kennedy's goaltenders broke multiple school records including the single season save percentage (.911), goals against average (2.75), wins (9) and the NCAA minutes played including a 328 minute span of shut-out play. Quinnipiac's goaltenders earned several honors in the 2005-06 season including ECACHL Goalie of the Week (11/28), 5 time ECACHL Honor Roll, New England Hockey Journal's Goaltender of the Week (12/02) and the ECACHL Rookie Goaltender of the Year Award. The Skaneateles, New York native, is 2001 graduate of Neumann College and earned his bachelors degree in psychology while starting in goal for the Knights. He was recognized as the Knights' first team captain and was a four-year letterman for Neumann. Kennedy lives with his wife Eileen in Springfield, PA. |
