Eights seniors were honored on the final home game of the regular season
Knights Tamed by the Tigers

Feb. 23, 2008

Aston, PA. The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) scored four times in the second period to pull away for a 7-2 win over Neumann at Ice Works Quad Arena.  Despite the loss, eight stand-out seniors were honored after the game where they were called to the ice with their parents for and a standing ovation.

The Tigers were held to one goal from Lindsay Littman in the first period with excellent goal tending from Teresa White (Salem, OR.) White was able to skate away with 19 save in the period.

The Tigers were not satisfied with their one goal cushion and added a second from Katie Stack just fourteen seconds in.  The goals didn't stop there for the Tigers as Sarah Dagg tallied the game winning goal on a five to three power play in their advantage, and Isabelle Richard added third shortly after.

Dagg had her third and final goal for the weekend at the 14 minute mark putting the Tigers up 5-0. The Knights wouldn't lay down for the Tigers and were able to get together for a goal of their own in the second period.  Jessica Schroeder zipped a pass up to the blue line where Robyn Armstrong floated it toward net minder Sandra Grant where Niki Blazenko (Burlington, ONT) was able to sneak the puck past her pads.

In the final period of play, the Knights were able to come together for a second power play goal from Stephanie Nakamura (Pickering, ONT) (from Tabatha Schury, Robyn Armstrong.) From that point on, the Knights would be silenced and RIT would finish with two more to produce the final margin.

On the day, the Knights were outshot by the Tigers 72-27. Teresa White had 65 saves on the loss in her final regular season game for her career.  The Knights will face off against Utica on Friday for the ECAC West Playoffs.
