Aston, Pa. - The Women's ice hockey team fell to the Adrian College, 3-2, at Ice Works arena in Aston, Pa Sunday afternoon. The Knights split the weekend series with the Bulldogs 1-1.

 

The Knights fell behind in the first period when Leah Humphries found Ashley Aiken who scored a power play goal giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

 

Samantha May tied the score with under 10 seconds of play in the second period when she put in a shorthanded goal tying the game at 1-1.  Adrian regained the lead midway through the period when Stacey Kempson and Dana Funkenhauser assisted a goal to Keegan Castrillo giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead.

 

Adrain was not done as they added another goal from Jessica Grubbs at the 13:50 mark giving them a 3-1 lead at the end of the period.

 

The Knights did not give up as they added a power play late on from Jessica Schroeder assisted from Carly Fitzsimmons cutting the lead to 3-2.  The Knights could not find the game tying goal as Adrian held on for the victory.

 

The Knights look to get back on track against SUNY Plattsburgh in New York on Friday at 7:00 pm.
