ASTON, Pa. - Freshman goaltender Mel Brunet (Sudbury, ONT) was named the ECAC West Hockey Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Brunet went 1-0-1 over the weekend, backstopping Neumann to a 2-1 win on Friday and a 2-2 tie on Saturday against Williams College. Her weekend record helped to keep a four game unbeaten streak alive for the Knights who have gone 4-0-1 in their last five games (including Tuesday night's 3-2 win over Hamliton) with Brunet in between the pipes.

Brunet stopped 33 of 34 shots in Friday's win over Williams College and returned to the ice on Saturday and stopped an amazing 58 of 60 shots leading the Knights to a 2-2 tie and 96.8 save percentage on the weekend.

Neumann will return to action on Friday when the Knights will host SUNY Cortland in a pivotal conference match up at 7:00 p.m.
