Jessica Schroeder Named ECAC Women's West Rookie of the Week

Dec. 12, 2007

ASTON, Pa. - Freshman forward Jessica Schroeder has been named the ECAC Women's West Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday night. The forward from Sudbury, Ontario has scored at least one point in the Knights' last three games, helping them post a 2-1-2 record in their last five games.

Schroeder recorded three goals and one assist last weekend and has closed out the month on a three game point streak.  She tied her career high, three points, in a 4-4 tie with SUNY Cortland on Friday afternoon, Dec. 7. In that match up Schroeder scored the game tying goal with three seconds left in regulation. That performance was one of two multi-point efforts this season, including a two-goal, one-assist showing against Oswego State on Dec.2.

Schroeder, who has recorded at least one point in seven of the Knights' ten games this season, leads the team in points with eleven on eight goals and three assists. This is Schroeder's first rookie of the week award.

Schroeder and the Knights will be off the ice until Jan. 12 when they will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a 7:00 p.m. face off with Chatham College.
