Field Hockey Career Record (After fall 2007) 16-20 (2 Seasons) Record at Neumann (16-20) Women's Lacrosse Career Record (Entering 2007-08): 9-6 (1 Season) Record at Neumann (Entering 2007-08): 15-15 (2 Seasons) Former Knights' field hockey and lacrosse standout Sarah Kurpel '02 (nee Madrak) returned to her alma mater as the head women's field hockey and lacrosse coach at Neumann College in the fall of 2006. A 2002 graduate of Neumann, Kurpel was a three-time team captain and starter on both field hockey and lacrosse teams under former Head Coach Carol Di Girolamo, who resigned her post following the 2006 season. Kurpel played four years for the Knights' field hockey and lacrosse teams. She was a two-time St. Francis & Clare Award winner as a field hockey player and selected as a member of the 2002 All-PAC academic team as a midfielder. Kurpel capped her career by playing in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Lacrosse Tournament Championship contest in 2001.
A native of Drexel Hill, Pa., Kurpel graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School where she lettered in field hockey and lacrosse. Coach Kurpel resides in Media, Pennsylvania with her husband Todd. |
