WEST PALM BEACH, FL. - The Women's Lacrosse team faced Curry College in their season opener in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Knights were able to catch a beautiful Florida sunset as they warmed up under the lights at Wellington Village Park.
Curry College's Emily Knight attacked first, finding the back of the net at 26:16. The Knights answered right back when Samantha Lafferty took a pass from Kolleen Kitzinger to tie the game 1-1. Kitzinger had three more goals for Neumann and Lafferty added one more herself. Emily Knight did most of the damage for Curry, scoring a total of 5 goals against the Knights. She had help from teammates Nikki Mackay with 4 goals and Meghan Tilley with 3 goals. Late in the game with only 40 seconds left, Michelle Coderre took a pass from Amanda Biagi to put one more in for the Knights. Sophomore goal keeper Caitlin O'Shea kept the Knights in the game with 15 saves for the night. Despite their hustle, the Knights could not keep up with Curry's speed, and the game ended with a final score of Curry College 14, Neumann College 7.
