Dallas, Pa. - The Neumann College Women's lacrosse team traveled north to Dallas, PA to match up with the Cougars of Misericordia University. The Cougars were looking to avenge two losses the Knights handed to them in the 2007 season, one of them in the first round of playoffs. The Knights strucks first in the match with a goal from junior Rachael DiCicco (South Dennis, NJ/Middle Township.) The team traded goals for the first ten minutes of the half until Misericordia got ahead of Neumann by two and lead the Knights 11-8. The edge Misericordia gained proved to be too much for the Knights to recover from and despite putting up eight goals in the half, they were never able to take the lead. Final score Misericordia 18-Neumann 16. On the loss, Gabby D'Ambrosio (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Holy Cross) finished with five goals and an assist, DiCicco and Colleen Finnegan (Pearl River, NY/Pearl River) had four and Dominique Thompson (Wayne, PA/Conestoga) tallied two and Adrienne Mcrae (Norwood, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) snuck away with one. Caitlin O'Shea (Springfield, PA/Springfield), though solid in net, walked away with the loss. The Knight will look to earn a win this Saturday when the face the Easter University Eagles at home for a 1:00 p.m. start. Don't forget to wear pink to show your support as the Knight raise awareness for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. |
