Aston, PA- The Neumann Knights fell to the Gwynedd-Mercy Griffins 19-4 in PAC match-up. Before the game the Knight's honored their two seniors Caitlin O'Shea and Chelsea Ward but the Griffins would spoil the day earning the victory. The Griffins jumped out to an early four goal lead with four different players scoring but then Gabby D'Ambrosio would stop the run making it a 4-1 game. Colleen Finnegan would add a goal for the Knights to make 5-2 at the 11:57 mark of the first half. The Knights though would slip up as they allowed the Griffins to score six more goals after Finnegan's strike to take a halftime lead of 11-2. The second half would not be much different as the Griffins outscored the Knights 8-2. Gabby D'Ambrosio scored both goals in the second half to finish her hat trick but it was not enough as the Knights fell to a final score of 19-4. The Knights will look to finish the season with a win playing their last game of the season as they take on Widener University Thursday with the face off slated at 7:00 PM. |
