Neumann Loses to Cabrini in PAC Semi-Final Game

June 21, 2005

May 4, 2005 - Radnor, PA - The fifth seeded Knights took on the number one seeded Cavaliers in a second round playoff game. Neumann went into the game looking to upset Cabrini. Unfortunately, the Knights could not pull the upset off. Led by Sr. Missy Modesti's seven goals the Cavaliers outscored the Knights 19-7.

Neumann Jr. Samantha Lafferty, the all time leading scorer in Neumann's program scored the first goal of the game. After that goal the Knights were unable to stop Modesti and Cavalier Sophomore April Kaufman.

Despite the loss, Coach DiGirolamo remained upbeat about the season. DiGirolamo stated, "This was a terrific season for us. We took on a strong schedule and finished 8-8. We competed each day and I am proud of them for doing so." Coach DiGirolamo continued by stating, "we have many of our key players returning for next season. I have challenged each team member to work hard during the summer and to come back ready to play."
