NC Women's Lacrosse Doles Out 2005 Awards at Banquet

July 26, 2005

Aston, PA - The Neumann College women's lacrosse program honored six student-athletes, as well as the Class of 2005, at the team's annual banquet that was held May 15 in the Schmidt Room at Living and Learning Center on the NC campus.

Sophomore attack Lindsey Moto was the recipient of the St. Francis & Clare Award in recognition of her tireless efforts and selfless giving to the team without hesitation. This honor embodies the spirit of NC women's lacrosse and the mission of the College.

Brandy McCreary was named the Offensive MVP as she led the Knights in draw controls (50) and ground balls (56). She was third in assists (21) and points (43), as well as game-winning goals (seven). Teammates Jill Rodgers and Ashley Barr received the Defensive MVP, while Samantha Lafferty and Kolleen Kitzinger were honored with the team MVP award. Lafferty and Kitzenger, All-PAC First Team honorees, were in the starting lineup for 9 of 14 games in which the pair played and ranked either first or second in points, goals, and assists throughout the season.

NC head coach Carol Di Girolamo also gave special recognition to the four-member Class of 2005 -- Michelle Roberts, Lindsey Webb, Barr, and Kitzinger, -- which led the Knights to the PAC Tournament all four year.
