Neumann Stuggles Against King's

RADNOR, PA- The Knights of Neumann College fell to the Monarchs of King's College 5-1 in a non-conference match up under the lights in Radnor, Pennsylvania after the game was moved due to due to the heavy rains and poor field conditions in Aston.  

 

Neumann's Casey Geary (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) opened the scoring at a time of 12:53 after receiving a pass from Brittany Barley (Lancaster, Pa. /Lancaster Catholic) putting Neumann ahead 1-0 in the first half.  Just past the 40th minute, the intensity of the game rose when King's Adrienne Stine put one past Neumann's Kelsey Toomey(Laurel Springs, NJ/Highland), tying the game at one.  Less than two minutes later, Stine struck again, allowing her team to gain the lead, 2-1, heading into the second half.

 

The second half of the game opened with back and forth defensive play between the two teams until 56:38 when Rachael Donatello, of the Monarchs added to the team's lead,  scoring an unassisted goal making it 3-1 King's. Donatello's goal was followed by two more Monarch goals leading to a 5-1 defeat of the Knights in the evening match up.

 

Neumann returns to action Saturday, September 30 against Wesley College.
