Aston, Pa. - The Neumann College women's soccer team defeated the College of Notre Dame, 2-0, in their PAC conference opener Wednesday afternoon. The Knights had a persistent attack all game led by senior Casey Geary (Ocean City, NJ /Ocean City) who helped the Knights get off on the right foot, starting out conference play in perfect style.
In the second half, both teams played to a deadlock. Geary came closest to a goal when she shot the ball over the bar on a breakaway midway through the period. Goalie Caitlin Agnew (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) came up big late in the second half when Sarah McCutcheon shot a low shot but Agnew made a tremendous save. Agnew made seven stops for the Knights. The Knights will be back in action this Saturday against PAC Opponent Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd, Pa. at 12:00 p.m. |
