Lancaster, Pa- The Neumann Knights shut out the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College 9-0 in non-conference action this afternoon. The win marks the Knight's second shutout of the season and sets the record for most goals in a game for the Knights.
Kathleen Lamb (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal for the Knights at 33:41 to give her team a 1-0 lead. Following in her direction was teammate Nicole Christy (Williamstown, NJ) at 43:33, with help from teammate Angela Juliano. The Knight's scoring pattern in the first half of play did not end there. Knights Jess Kempa (Baltimore, Md.) and Nicole Christy scored next for Neumann, setting the score at 4-0 Neumann heading into the second half.
In the second half of the game, the Knights recorded 5 more goals. Casey Geary (Ocean City, NJ) started the scoring off at 50:32. Juliano (Seaville, NJ) recorded her second assist of the game on Geary's goal. Brittany Barley, Colleen Rush, Christy and Kempa also scored in the second to allow Neumann to achieve a result of 9-0 over the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College. Christy records her first hat-trick of the season with three goals in the game.
Neumann will once again take the field this Saturday September 30th at 1:00 p.m. against PAC competitor Wesley College.
