Three Knights Honored by the PAC Conference

Nov. 7, 2005

Aston, PA - Three members of the Neumann College women's soccer team were selected to the 2005 All-PAC Women's Soccer team on Monday as announced by the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Office in Aston, PA.

Sophomore Casey Geary and Junior Jess Kempa were named to the Honorable Mention All-PAC team, while senior Shana Mitchell garnered 2005 All-PAC Sportsmanship team honors.

Kempa earned her second All-PAC nod, after earning an All-PAC second-team selection in 2004. The sweeper was a constant on the team throughout the 2005 season, coming up with key plays when needed. The Baltimore, Maryland native scored a goal and added an assist for 3 points this season, ranking her sixth among her fellow Knights.

Casey Geary also received her second All-PAC honor this season. The Ocean City, New Jersey native was named to All-PAC second-team in 2003. The sophomore forward led the Knights in points this season scoring 9 goals and 4 assists. Geary also scored three game winning goals for the Knights in 2005.

Shana Mitchell was named to the All-PAC sportsmanship for the first time in her four-year career as a Knight. The Collingdale, Pennsylvania native ends her career with a total of 13 goals and 6 assists, two of each were recorded during the 2005 season.

The Knights ended the season 6-7-2 overall and 8th in the PAC with a conference record of 3-7. Head Coach Lisa Benvenuto completed her second season at the helm of the Knights program, recording an overall coaching record of 10-17-4.
