Neumann Closes Out the Season at the Fourth Annual Women's Soccer Banquet

Nov. 12, 2006

The Neumann College Women's Soccer team hosted its fourth annual awards banquet on Saturday, November 18th, 2006.  Director of Athletics, Chuck Sack served as emcee of the event and welcomed over 75 supporters back to campus to help celebrate the strong bonds between team members.

At the banquet, the coaching staff recognized the hard work and effort of every individual.  Each team member received a participation award for their year(s) of service and dedication.  After recognizing each team member, Coach Lisa Benvenuto awarded the team individual awards.

The team's most valuable player was Senior Jess Kempa.   Jessica was a strong presence on the field and helped lead the team from her sweeper position. This year Freshman Forward Brittany Barley was awarded the St. Francis and Clare Leadership award. The St. Francis and Clare Leadership award is given to the individual who represents the values and mission of the College the best. The team also recognized a most improved player as well as distributing a coaches' award. This year's most improved player was awarded to Junior AnneMarie Metzger. The coaches' award was given to Freshman Goalkeeper Caitlin Agnew.

This year's banquet also recognized Neumann's PAC Conference award winners.  Senior Jessica Kempa was named to the Women's Soccer All-PAC First Team, while Freshman Caitlin Agnew earned a spot on the All-PAC Sportsmanship Team.  Junior Forward Casey Geary was awarded All-PAC Honorable Mention as the Knights officially ended their season.

To conclude the event, Coach Benvenuto and Chuck Sack expressed their gratitude along with that of Assistant Coach Laurie Muller, to all of the Neumann family for their dedication and support of the team during this season.
