Knights Remain Undefeated in PAC Conference Play

March 31, 2008

Aston, PA- Neumann College swept Cedar Crest College today 2-1 and 10-1 in a PAC Conference match up. Jen Goslin hit a home run in each game to help propel the Knights over the Falcons.  The win puts Neumann 4-0 in PAC conference play.

In game one, the Knights relied on pitcher Angela Sebasto who only gave up one run on three hits and recorded twelve strike outs in a complete game win.  Falcons pitcher Allison Holland gave up four hits and struck seven in the loss.

Cedar Crest got on the board first in the top of the third inning on a Melanie Devlin double to make the score 1-0.  The Knights would take the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jen Goslin hit a homerun to take a 2-1 lead.  After the home run neither teams could get around the bases and the game ended 2-1.

In the second game, Jen Goslin hit another homerun this time in the first inning to give the Knights an early 3-0 lead.  Neumann would add to the lead on a Samantha Duncan single in the fourth inning giving the Knights a 4-0 lead.

An Alyssa Kabat double would get the Falcons on the board in the top of the fourth inning making the score 4-1. The Falcons had the bases loaded and threatening but Megan Mazur stayed composed and got out of the inning.

The game would be called on the eight run rule when Audrie Porter hit a grand slam homerun in the bottom of the fifth giving the Knights the 10-1 victory.

The Knights will back in action Saturday, March 29 at Alvernia College for a double header starting at 1:00 PM.
