April 7, 2008

Box Score

IMMACULATA, Pa. - Neumann College's softball team dashed past Immaculata University, 10-2 and 14-6, in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader on Monday, April 7.

In game one, Neumann got off to a quick start as they went up five to zero in the first four innings. Kimberly Kirkpatrick, Christina Walsh, Caitlin Hanrahan, Jen Goslin and Angela Sebasto each got safely to base and headed home for the Knights.  In the top of the 7th ahead 7-2, Jen Goslin put the game out of reach for the Mighty Macs on a 2 run home run. Angela Sebasto tossed a complete game two-hitter for the Knights.

In game two despite Immaculata's lead of 4-3 after scoring two runs in the bottom of the second, the Knights' bats would not be silenced as they scored three runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to elude the Mighty Macs. The second game was harnessed by the Knights with smart base running and base hits from many players. Gabrielle Lulias, Audrie Porter and Jen Goslin each scored three times, Caitlin Hanrahan made it home twice and Danielle Hayes, Christina Walsh and Shelia Munson each made it around the horn once leaving the score 14-6 at the end of the game.

The wins put the Knights at 16-6 overall and 9-1 in the PAC. Neumann will match up with Ursinus College on Wednesday, April 9th in Collegeville, PA.
