Neumann's starting pitcher Angela Sebasto led the Knights offensively and defensively. The sophomore pitched a complete five-inning four-hitter in game one and went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, two runs scored and three rbi. Gabrielle Lulias went 3-for- 3 with a triple and three runs scored in the opener and freshman Jen Goslin was 4-for-3 with three runs scored to shutdown Marywood 12-4 in the opener. Caitlin Hanrahan got things started for Neumann in game two with a double that sparked a 3-run, 3-hit inning for the Knights. Neumann's Jen Goslin added to the excitement hitting the first homerun of the day, her fifth of the season, scoring Danielle Hayes and Sheila Munson in the third inning of game two, allowing the Knights to take a 6-0 lead over their visitors. Christina Walsh followed Goslin's example and picked up her first homerun of the season in the bottom of the fifth, scoring Audrie Porter who led off the inning with a single. Neumann ended the game on a high note after senior captain Kristen Lawlor hit a three run homer to end the game 11-1 in the 6th inning due to the 10-run ruling. The Knights' Katie Kletzel pitched a complete 6-inning game allowing only five hits and striking out one. |
