Box Score

GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -Neumann split a conference doubleheader on a Saturday matinee game with host Gwynedd-Mercy. Neumann fell in game one, 7-3, but was able to come away with a victory of 3-2 in the second.

In game one, the Griffins (17-12, 12-6 PAC) plated two runs in the first and second innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead, but the Knights (21-9, 13-3 PAC) cut to a one-run game on a three-run homerun in the third from Jen Goslin.

Gwynedd got one back in the bottom of the inning as Michelle Bissell scored on wild pitch from third.

The Griffins added some insurance runs with an RBI hits in the fourth to give Gwynedd their for a four-run lead which would prove to be the final margin of the game.

Game two saw the Knights finally break a scoreless tie in the fifth. Lauren Gallagher's (Parkesburg, PA) RBI double followed by a two-run homer from Kimberly Kirkpatrick (Springfield, PA/Springfield) gave Neumann a 3-0 lead.

The Griffins tried to rally the troops with a big two-out, two-run single in the sixth to cut it to 3-2.

Neumann's Angela Sebasto (Trenton, NJ/McCorristin), who struck out 10 on just four hits, got a perfect seventh to salvage the split.

Neumann will host Widener University for a double header on April 23rd at 4:00p.m. before returning to PAC play against Centenary on the 25th.
