Neumann went up 2-0 in the first inning after a two-run homerun by Danielle Hayes put the Knights on top. Audrie Porter's two-out base hit which scored Angela Sebasto, would be the eventual game winning RBI, giving Neumann a 3-0 lead at the completion of the first inning. Neumann shut down the Crusaders in the top of the second inning due to the effort of Kristen Lawlor, who connected with Jen Goslin, for a double play to end the inning. Alvernia responded with a run in the top of the third inning, as catcher Colleen Ambrosius scored on a wild pitch to make the score 4-1. After a scoreless fifth inning the Crusaders were able to capitalize on a series of errors to close the gap on the Knights 4-2. Fortunately the Knights' defense was able to rally behind starting pitcher Angela Sebasto who pitched a complete game, 5-hitter, with 10-strikeouts, allowing only one earned run en route to their 11th straight win of the season.
