Glenside, Pa. - The Neumann came into its first game of the day undefeated in the tournament. However, College Misericordia, who the Knights defeated on Saturday, 3-1, took the lead in the first inning, added 2-runs in the second inning, 3-runs in the fourth and 4 in the fifth inning to hand the Knights their first loss of the tournament. That result forced the championship into its ninth game of the weekend. Neumann's sole run came in the bottom of the fifth inning after Gabrielle Lulias led off for the Knights with a successful bunt up the third base line and scored when Angela Sebasto reached on an error. All in all the Knights went just 7-for-23 in the loss. Starting pitcher Angela Sebasto went 3-innings allowing 3-runs on 4-hits, striking out 3. Freshman Megan Mazur pitched 1.1 innings in relief and Audrie Porter faced 4-batters on the mound in the loss. |
