Glenside, Pa. - In their 5th game of the championship series the Knights (27-11) seemed to run out of steam both offensively and defensive falling to College Misericordia (29-14) 3-1. The Cougars went up 1-0 after an exhausted Angela Sebasto walked two batters and threw a wild pitch which allowed the first run of the game. Misericordia went up 2-0 in the second inning and 3-0 in the third but Neumann answered with a solo homerun in the fourth by Caitlin Hanrahan. The Knights' defenses prevented further runs from scoring in the final innings, but were unable to connect offensively. For the tournament the Knights were led by Angela Sebasto who went 6-for-15 with a double and 2 rbi, Jennifer Goslin who went 6-for-17 with a homerun and 3-rbi, Caitlin Hanrahan who went 5-for-18 with a homerun and 2 rbi and Danielle Hayes who went 4-for-17 with a homerun and 2 rbi. On the mound Sebasto pitched 23.2 innings with a 3.42 ERA. She fanned 25 and gave up 11 runs 23 hits. Senior Katie Kletzel pitched 6.1 innings giving up 1-run on 5-hits. |
