Softball Falls to PSU-Berhend in ECAC Southern Regional Tournament

May 12, 2007

Box Score

Pittsburgh, Pa. - Despite a strong pitching effort from sophomore Angela Sebasto, the fifth-seeded Neumann College softball team saw its season end with a narrow 1-0 loss to fourth-seeded PSU-Berhend in the first round of the ECAC Southern Regional Tournament.

PSU-Berhend's winning run came off of a solo home run in the first inning. Neumann knocked on the door all day, pounding out four hits but leaving six runners stranded, including two in scoring position.

Caitlin Hanrahan, Lauren Gallagher, Kristen Lawlor and Sebasto each recorded a hit in the loss but the Knights were unable to capitalize on their efforts.

Neumann finishes their season 28-12. The Knights had been the 2007 PAC tournament runner ups and received their first ever invite to the ECAC Southern Regional on Tuesday.
