Knights Take Two from Pacers

April 5, 2008

Aston, PA-The Neumann softball team took on the Marywood Pacers in a PAC match-up double header this afternoon. The Knights shutout the Pacers in game one 8-0 and came back from 10 runs down to come back and win 20-17 in game two.

In game one, Angela Sebasto pitched her third shut out game of the season for the Knights as they went onto win 8-0. The Knights won on the mercy rule in the sixth inning of the game.

In game two, The Knights fell behind early and the Pacers bats were active. The Knights fell behind 15-5 going into the bottom of the second inning.

With the bases loaded Audrie Porter sent a grand slam over the center filed fence putting the Knights back into the game at 15-11 in the bottom of the second. It was Porter's second homerun of the game.

The Knights would bring it within two in the bottom of the fifth on a RBI single by Sheila Munson making it a 17-15 game.

Danielle Hayes hit a rocket over the left field fence in the bottom of sixth completing the comeback tying the score at 17-17. The Knights would then take their first lead of the game with a double by Megan Goodman, clearing the loaded bases giving the Knights a 20-17 lead.

Julia Keenan and Ang Sebestao closed out the game for the Knights sealing the comeback and winning 20-17.

Neumann will back in action at Immaculata University at 3:00 PM on April 4.
