Aston, Pa. - Neumann College senior softball pitcher Katie Kletzel was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday after her spectacular performance this past week. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native earned wins over Cabrini, Widener and Cedar Crest College this past week.

 

Kletzel notched a 3-0 record with 14 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.19 in just over 19 innings.  She recorded the most wins in a season for her career and is currently 10-2 on the season. The PAC weekly honor marked the first pitcher-of-the-week award for the senior hurler over her four-year career.

 

The Knights are currently 25-9 on the season and 18-4 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, which sit the 2006 defending champions third in the league standings going into playoffs.

 

Neumann returns to action Wednesday when it plays host to sixth-place Alvernia College at 3:30 p.m., at Bruder Field. The game marks the opener of the 2007 PAC Softball Championship.
