Aston, Pa. - Neumann College sophomore Angela Sebasto (Trenton, NJ/McCorristin HS) has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All East Region softball team. Sebasto was picked as a first-team all-region utility player.

 

The NFCA Division III All-Region Team is made up of players from NCAA Division III and NAIA institutions. The first-team selections in each region will be eligible to earn all-America honors. Players are chosen on their statistical numbers following the conclusion of the regular season. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by those who know the players the best -the coaches themselves.

 

Sebasto, who was named 2006 Rookie of the year and PAC First Team as a pitcher, is a 4-time Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Pitcher of the Week.

 

At the plate in 2007, Sebasto contributed a .496 batting average (65-for-131) with a team-leading 65 hits this season. She was also among the team leaders in runs scored (37), RBI (33), and triples (2).

 

In the pitcher's circle, Sebasto posted team-bests with a 15-5 record and a 1.93 ERA this season. In 24 appearances, she threw 127.0 innings, allowing 42 runs (35 earned) on 94 hits and 46 walks while fanning 152 (highest single-season total in Neumann College history).

 

Sebasto's career batting average of .496 (113-228) ranks 5th in team history. She is also second in Neumann's record book in homeruns (10), fourth in doubles (21) and runs batted in (66) and has also chipped in 55 career runs scored.

 

As a pitcher, Sebasto's 47 appearances (fifth), 31 wins (first), 259.2 innings pitched (third), 273 strikeouts (first) and 33 complete games (tied for third) all rank among Neumann's career leaders.
