Four-year team captain Katie Kletzel will lead the Knights throughout the ECAC Tournament
 
Neumann College's Softball Team Selected to ECAC

May 8, 2007

Aston, Pa.- The Neumann College softball team has been selected to compete in the 2007 ECAC Division III Southern Softball Tournament which gets underway on Thursday, May 10th. The fifth seeded Knights (28-11) will travel to PSU-Berhend on Thursday afternoon for a four o'clock match up with the fourth-seeded Lions (27-14).

Westminster College (24-13) is the top seeded team at the tournament, followed by La Roche College (26-15), Washington & Jefferson (19-14), Penn State-Behrend (27-14), Neumann College (28-11) and Kean University (21-13).

In other first-round play on Thursday Washington & Jefferson will play host to Kean University. Westminster and La Roche, who will host the semifinals and championships over the weekend, will receive a first-round bye.  

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, May 12 at La Roche College.  The Neumann/Penn State-Behrend winner will take on Westminster, at 11:00 a.m. while the Washington & Jefferson /Kean winner will play La Roche in the other semifinal at 1:00 p.m. 

The Neumann Knights finished second in the 2007 PAC Championship Softball Tournament on Sunday falling in the Championship to College Misericorida in back to back games of the double elimination tournament.

The Knights had seven players named to the 2007 All-PAC Team led by 2007 Rookie of the Year, Jen Goslin and First Team selections Kristen Lawlor, Angela Sebasto and Caitlin Hanrahan.

Junior Lauren Gallagher and freshman Jen Goslin  were named All-PAC honorable mention while four-year team captain Katie Kletzel was the Knights selection for the 2007 All-PAC Sportsmanship Team.

The championship game will feature the two semifinal winners at time on day, date.
