Courtney Hartel received top singles and doubles honors.
 
Knights Honored at 2007 Team Banquet

Aston, Pa. -- Head Coach Christian Gosseaux and Director of Athletics Chuck Sack welcomed team members, parents, friends and families to the 5th Annual Women's Tennis Banquet on Saturday, November 17, 2007. 

Sack greeted everyone and emceed the banquet assisting Coach Gosseaux as he recognized each team member with their participation awards.  Coach Gosseaux honored the team for a year of hard work and achievements.  The team posted an overall record of 8-10 and a conference record of 5-5 just missing the conference tournament.

Several team members were recognized for their accomplishments during the season.  Courtney Hartel received the Top Singles Players award.  Hartel, who played in the 6th seeded flight all year, went undefeated in conference play going 10-0 with a 15-3 record overall.  Hartel advanced to the P.A.C. individual tournament finishing second overall in the 6th seeded flight.

Hartel and Lindsey Ravior were recognized as the Top Doubles Team while Allison Trout and Kayla Chamberlain received the Coaches Award for their constant effort to support their teammates and make the team better.   

Senior Katie Nell received the Saint Francis and Clare Award as she represented the values of St. Francis and Clare through her senior leadership all season long at the number one singles flight.  Coach Gosseaux thanked Nell for her four years of dedication and service to both the College and to the team. 

The banquet ended with Coach "Goose" sharing his thoughts on the season and his pride in the team's efforts.  At the same time Coach Gosseaux challenged the team for the 2008 season, knowing how close they were to making the P.A.C. tournament.  With many of the team returning next year the goal will be a good one.
