Ashley Miller, 2006 All-PAC Sportmanship Honoree

Hartel and Miller Named to PAC's 2006 All-Conference Team

Nov. 6, 2006

Courtney Hartel was named second-team all-conference performer after ending her season 9-4 overall and 9-6 in the PAC. The 2006 PAC 6th singles runner up was selected to the all-conference team after defeating Kim Baksovich of Cedar Crest, 8-6, in the quarterfinals and upsetting second seed Brittany Albertson, of Gwynedd Mercy College 8-6, in the semifinals to advance to the finals of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference 6th singles Championship. In the Championship match up Hartel fought tough but fell short in the end 6-1, 6-1.

This is Hartel's first conference selection of her career.

Ashley Miller, who will graduate in May, was also awarded conference accolades. Miller was named to the All-PAC Sportsmanship team following the 2006 season.

Miller, who started at first doubles this season with teammate Sarah Tomlinson, recorded a 9-5 mark overall. The Newark, Delaware native also recorded a 6-6 overall record and went 5-5 in the PAC at second singles. She ended her career at the semifinals of the PAC Championship Tournament in 2nd singles where she defeated Jamie Valis of Marywood 9-7 in the quarterfinal before falling to 2nd seed Erin Fallon of Gwynedd Mercry College, 8-3 in the semifinals.

Both women helped the 2006 team achieve the best record in program history. Neumann went 9-7 overall and 8-3 in the conference. Six of Neumann's nine wins came on their home courts in Aston, Pennsylvania.
