Volleyball Overwhelms Marywood, 3-0

ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann volleyball team (11-8, 4-0 PAC) used near-flawless hitting to overwhelm PAC opponent Marywood University, 3-0 (30-10, 30-20, 30-17), Monday night in Scranton, Pa.  

Emilee Gruse (Lafayette, In. /St. Mark's) led the way for the Knights, recording 9 kills, 0 errors on 13 attempts for a .690 hitting percentage. She also added 6 block assists and a block solo to her statistical line. Rachael Sokolovich (Media, Pa. /Ridley) had 10 kills, 1 error on 18 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage and senior Alyssa Brigg (Rosemont, Pa. /Archbishop Carroll) recorded six-service aces on the night.   

Meghan Wilson (West Chester, Pa. /Bishop Shanahan) helped lead the defense for the Knights, picking up seven digs. Setter Kristen Verone (Folsom, Pa. /Cardinal O'Hara) dished out 41 assists in the 3-0 win over the Pacers.  

Neumann will remain idle until Homecoming Weekend at which time they will host Alvernia College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2007.
