Thursday night at the Bruder gymnasium The Knights of Neumann hosted Baptist Bible College in women's volleyball action.

In the opening game Neumann found themselves down early (7-1). After a timeout the Knights calmed down and battled back to make it 22-15, but it just was not enough for Baptist Bible College. Baptist Bible took the first game 30-20 over Neumann. Rachael Sokolovich led the Knights with 4 kills on 9 attempts.

Game 2 Neumann turned things around and came out as a team. Neumann took a commanding lead mid-game (18-11) until a tenacious Baptist Bible College fought their way back in to the game (22-22). The game would have to be decided by extra points. Neumann came out on top 33-31 to secure the victory. Julia Tarloski led the team as she erupted for 7 kills on 9 attempts. Setter, Kristen Gregg-Verone had 17 assists on the game alone.

Neumann took the momentum from the emotional win in game 2 and kept the ball rolling in to the third. Neumann came out flying and never looked back with a commanding win 30-14. Kills came courtesy of: Rachael Sokolovich (5), Julia Tarloski (3), Jenna Halpin (2), and Emilee Gruse (2).

In the 4th game, Baptist Bible came out looking to redeem their selves...and that they did. Baptist Bible College took the 4th game 30-23 and forcing a deciding 5th game which goes to the first team to 15.  Game 4 did have some highlights despite the loss courtesy of Sarah Miller who recorded 4 kills on 5 attempts.

In the 5th and deciding game Neumann came up short despite a lengthy, hard fought match that went the distance. Baptist Bible College took the shortened game 15-9 and the non-conference match up winning the best of five.

The Knights will take action again on Saturday when they travel to Immaculata University for a 1:00 p.m. PAC conference match-up.
