Meghan Wilson (West Chester, Pa. /Bishop Shanahan) became just the fourth player in school history to record 1,000 career digs as the Neumann College Knights swept the Falcons of Cedar Crest College in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's volleyball contest in Allentown, Pa. The Knights took the first game, 30-10 and followed with a 30-28 win in game two, before taking the third game 30-16. With the 3-0 sweep of Cedar Crest College the Knights improve to 17-8 overall and remain undefeated in the PAC (9-0). Cedar Crest falls to 18-13 overall and 2-6 in the PAC.
Rachael Sokolovich (Media, Pa. /Ridley) led the Knights with eight kills and Ashley Mathis (Norristown, Pa. /Norristown) and Emilee Gruse (Lafayette, In. /St. Mark's) added 7 apiece for the Knights in the win. Kristen Verone (Folsom, Pa. /Cardinal O'Hara) led all players with seven service aces and set up 35 successful kills on the night. Neumann will look to will continue its six-game win streak on Thursday at home against Rosemont College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. |
Wilson entered the game needing fourteen digs to reach the 1,000 mark. The junior defensive specialist reached the mark midway through the third game and finished the game with a match-high 17 digs and now has 1,003 for her career. |
