Knights Sweep Volleyball Tri-Match with Scranton & Baptist Bible

ASTON, Pa. - In a volleyball tri-match, hosted by Baptist Bible College Saturday afternoon in Clarks Summit, Pa., the Neumann Knights continued to dominate the courts as they defeated the University of Scranton (30-22, 26-30, 30-21, 30-22) and Baptist Bible (30-25, 25-30, 30-26, 34-32), 3-1. The wins improve the Knights to 20-8 on the season and mark their 10th straight win of the season.

 

A number of players highlighted the tri-match sweep for the Knights. Kristen Verone recorded a double-double in both of Saturday's matches. She registered 56 assists and 19 digs against Scranton and another 56 assists and 15 digs against Baptist Bible.  Rachael Sokolovich also had a double-double in the Knights 3-1 win over Scranton and added 11 digs in the night cap.

Julia Tarloski tallied 31 kills in the two games and Ashley Mathis combined for 38 kills on the night.  The Knights also received a strong defensive effort from Meghan Wilson (50 digs), Rachele Dimichele (23 digs) and Chrystina Amelotti (13 digs).  Adding to the Knights' success was senior Alyssa Brigg who added 7 digs and 4 aces in the win over the Scranton.

Neumann is off until Tuesday when they head to Eastern University for their final PAC match up of the season. Currently both teams are undefeated in the conference.
