Meet Team Chaplain, Sr. Marie Therese Carr

As Team Chaplain, Sr. Marie Therese Carr provides personal and spiritual support to the student-athletes, coaches and staff during the entire school year. Her role is designed to be one of encouragement, vision and leadership. While being in concert with the coaches, she also maintains a special relationship with the captains of the women'svolleyball team in assisting to develop their role in leadership through the filter of discipleship. Chaplain Marie Therese is often called upon to provide a healthy, balanced perspective to the entire team, making athletics at Neumann College distinctive.

A graduate of Mt. St. Mary's College (University) in Emmitsburg, Maryland, Chaplain Sr. Marie Therese went on to earn a masters in English from St. Michael's College in Winooski, VT. Prior to her current position as the archivist for Neumann College Sr. Marie Therese served as an educator in elementary school for 15 years and secondary English for 23 years. She has assisted the coaching staff of the women's volleyball team in integrating the competitiveness of sport, spirituality, and character development into the aggressive daily practices and the assertive competition that athletic teams endure on a volunteer basis since 1997 and has been a Sister of St. Francis for many years.
