Aston, Pa. - Neumann College will continue its 2006 volleyball season at the ECAC Division III Women's Southern Volleyball Championship hosted by New Jersey City University this Friday, November 10. The Knights will open the weekend tournament at 6:00 p.m. against top-seeded New Jersey City University.

 

Neumann was selected as the eighth seed in the 2006 ECAC Division III Women's Southern Volleyball Championship. The tournament is an eight-team field with quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds.

 

All games will be played at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, New Jersey.

 

In the first-round on Friday, four games will be played. No. 1 seed New Jersey City University (30-8) will play No. 8 Neumann College (21-14) at 6:00 p.m. and No. 2 Penn State Behrend (27-3) will face No. 7 Lebanon Valley College (21-10) at 6:00 p.m.  No. 3, Westminster (Pa.) (23-11) will meet No. 6 seed, Rutgers University--Newark (23-11) at 3:00 p.m. and No. 4 Franklin and Marshall College (19-10) will play No. 5 Moravian College (16-13) at 3:00 p.m.

 

The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, November 11.  The winner of Game #1 will face the winner of Game #4 at 9:00 a.m.  The winner of Game #2 will play the winner of Game #3 in the other semifinal at 9:00 a.m.  The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. for the championship.
